This is not negative, just news. I deleted the truthful and opinion part because it the truth is somewhat negative right now. I am not negative like the news TV-12 and The Flint Journal thrive on the negative, I am trying to point out facts to educate the people of Genesee County.

Not that I am smarter, because we both would know that is not true.

Many of the problems we are facing in our area and in Michigan in general are simply because of bad decisions. If people continue to walk around ignorant to issues they will continue to make the same mistakes.

One of the most influential philosophers of my life summed it up when he said “A problem ignored is given strength beyond forbearance” In other words it is only by acknowledging an issue that you can begin to deal with it. Refusal to acknowledge an issue only allows the problem to grow and fester.

The number of foreclosures is not positive or negative, it just one of many numbers that help us evaluate the relative strength of our real estate market along with number of listings, time on the market, average selling price, etc.

One of the biggest problems with the real estate industry at this time is the absolute insistence that everything is OK and if we just smile and think happy thoughts the market will come back and golly Buick City will rise from the ashes and 70,000 UAW employees will get called back to work.

Unfortunately those of us who look at real estate as a business and our primary source of revenue are faced with making daily decisions based on the realities of the market place and the long term failure to take to take those realities into account are not punished lightly.
