This chart is very interesting and helpful. I know people, and I am sure I am not alone, who consider themselves "failures" because they can't afford the price range they "think" is the norm. A look at this chart shows that we might be aiming for the wrong things. Don't get me wrong, it's good to want more and strive for the best, but it's very bad to buy more than you can comfortably handle just to keep up with some ill perceived standard. Has anyone heard what is going on with Abbey Homes in the Woodfield Subdivision? We have done work for them for the last couple of years without any problem being paid. Now this year, they have been putting us off every month and owe us for work we did in April & May of 2007. Is this another SonRise???? Should we be worried? We have all of the homes liened but still worry about collecting our money. Thanks for any input.

Georgia, I have ran a search on Abbey Homes and find nothing that looks threatening locally. All builders are facing a different cash flow situation today than they did the last couple of years. They seem to be moving product, and only have 2 leins placed against them. They appear to be in great shape.

The other guys were a lot different, nothing they did appeared honest.

Do you know the lot numbers in Woodfield all I can find is in Flint, I would be happy to look further with more info.

Yes, I know the lot numbers, they are Woodfield Greens #4 & Woodfield Landings #9. The reason you did not find them is because they are in Oakland County. They fall just over border of Genesee County. The other homes are in Livingston County, Orchard Park #20. We had to go down to the Register of Deeds in those counties to file our liens, an hours drive. I do know all about the SonRise drama, I was one of the fortunate ones that did collect all monies due us, including fees and interest. We know of a few contractors that were not so lucky, including the contractor who replaced us even after we warned him.

Were you ever able to find anything else out about Abbey Homes? We are still another month out with no payments and none in sight according to their main man.
